Tena yistiligne (Hello) and welcome to Alem Ethiopian Village, an authentic Ethiopian restaurant, located in downtown Milwaukee at the corner of East Wisconsin Avenue and North Broadway. We are proud to present to you an exquisite and authentic cuisine from one of the oldest countries in the world, Ethiopia, a country of three thousand years of history, thirteen months of sunshine and home of the earliest known human kind, Lucy, our ancestor.
Alem Ethiopian Village offers a great variety of entrés featuring dishes made of beef, chicken, and lamb, as well as the vegetarian’s delights such as vegetables, split peas, lentils and salad. Dining takes place in a communal setting, where you will eat out of a common plate using your hands, and where no utensils are provided, except for the non-initiated and the non-adventurous, and upon request.
Ethiopian food is fun, tasty and healthy. So bring your friends and family for a wonderful eating experience coupled with Ethiopian ambience and hospitality. Come by 307 East Wisconsin Avenue and you will be greeted with the rich and enticing Ethiopian herbs and spices wafting over you.
At the end of this wonderful experience, do not forget to say AMESEGINALEHU (“thank you”) to your server.
